You are worthy of having a happy life

One common reason people are hesitant to get into counseling is the belief that they’re not worth it. Somewhere along the line, they were told the lie that they weren’t worthy of being happy. I believe that everyone, regardless of who they are, where they came from, or what they’ve done, is worthy of happiness, growth, and a good life.

You are not your activities or behaviors

We can be very good at harshly judging or labeling ourselves based on a few actions. While a pattern of maladaptive behaviors might be easy to label, they are also able to be changed into healthier, more adaptive behaviors. I can help identify some of the underlying reasons someone acts a certain way, and help find better and more accurate sources to help us grow

Recovery is possible for everyone

I don’t believe that some people are “just past help”. So many of our behaviors are learned, which means they can be unlearned. The sooner you start working towards a better you, the sooner you get to be a better you.

Needing help isn’t bad

Everyone needs help with something at some point. It’s time to remove the stigma or shame of asking for help. Maturity asks for help and gets the job done. Pride refuses and prolongs the struggle.

 
 

How I can help

  • I can help identify those core beliefs and change them into ones that are more accurate and helpful. Oftentimes times there’s a core belief that has been buried for years that is still negatively impacting someone’s life.

  • I provide an environment free from judgment or condemnation so the person can start to acknowledge their own resiliency and ability to cope

  • I offer private and confidential help via telehealth anywhere in the state of Texas

  • If you choose to pay cash, I can provide a superbill that can be submitted for an insurance review

  • I am in network with Aetna and Optum(UHC, Oscar, and others)

  • I am available to speak at schools, churches, workplaces, etc. to provide training aimed at improving your mental health

  • I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if we’d be a good fit or to recommend any other mental health services/resources
