Counseling for Men Struggling With Pornography, Infidelity & Relationships
Become the Man You Want to Be.
Build the relationship you've been hoping for.
If pornography, secrecy, betrayal, or disconnection is affecting your relationship, I help men understand what's happening and make changes that are more likely to last.
If this sounds familiar, you're in the right place.
A lot of men come to my practice after telling themselves more than once that this would be the last time. Sometimes their wife or partner has found out. Other times, no one knows, but the secrecy, shame, or distance in the relationship has started to feel harder to ignore.
You may feel like you're living two different lives, or you may simply be tired of making promises to yourself that are difficult to keep. Whatever brought you here, you probably don't need another person telling you that you should know better. My clients ask the same two questions:
-How do I fix this?
-Why did it happen?
That is the kind of work I do. We look at the behavior, but we also look at the stress, emotions, relationship patterns, habits, and situations surrounding it so you can start making changes that make sense and are more likely to last.
-
You've tried relying on willpower, deleting apps, making promises, or telling yourself this time will be different. If that hasn't worked, it doesn't necessarily mean you're incapable of change. It usually means there's more happening beneath the surface than you've been able to see.
-
Ruptures and betrayals in a relationship are difficult, but not necessarily the end. One of the big things I work on is the reparation process. Through healthy reparation, you can move forward after a betrayal, and often have a relationship you never knew could exist.
-
The topic changes, but the conversation always seems to end the same way. You both leave feeling misunderstood, frustrated, and farther apart than when you started. Those cycles can change when you begin understanding what's happening underneath them.
-
Many men assume their problem is a lack of discipline. More often, the behavior has become a way of coping with stress, loneliness, shame, or emotional pain. Understanding that pattern doesn't excuse the behavior. It gives us something useful to work on so you can begin responding differently.
-
You're dependable at work. People trust you. You solve problems for everyone else. Yet your marriage, your emotional life, or your private struggles feel completely different. You don't have to keep carrying that burden by yourself.
You probably didn't expect to end up here.

Why should you work with me?
I’m Gary Hominick, a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT), and the founder of Aletheia Counseling TX. I work primarily with men throughout Texas and Idaho who are dealing with pornography use, infidelity, relationship problems, stress, burnout, and emotional disconnection. My practice is fully online, which allows me to work with clients throughout both states.
Most of the men I work with have already spent months, or years trying to solve these problems on their own. They've read books, listened to podcasts, installed accountability software, prayed harder, or promised themselves this time would be different. When those efforts don't last, many begin believing something is fundamentally wrong with them. I don't believe that's the right conclusion.
My approach isn't about labeling you or shaming you into better behavior. It's about helping you understand why the pattern developed, what continues to fuel it today, and how to build healthier ways of responding to stress, relationships, and difficult emotions. We may start by addressing a specific behavior, but the larger goal is helping you become more consistent with the kind of man, husband, or partner you want to be.
Many men ask: “Is what I’m experiencing normal?” The answer is often yes, and there’s a pattern to it. I created a 5-stage model to help you understand what’s happening and what to expect as things improve.

Many of the men I work with come in feeling stuck, frustrated, or unsure if things can really change. Here’s what some of them have said after doing the work:
“Gary is a non-judgmental, compassionate, insightful, and often funny therapist. Heal yourself while being entertained by his off-the-wall analogies that are spot on”
-Former Client
“Gary has helped me view myself and the world with more empathy and grace. I am blessed to work with him.”
